Somalia, China deepen ties in immigration and civil registration development
Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Authority met with China’s Ambassador to enhance cooperation in immigration services and infrastructure development
Mustafa Duhulow, Director General of Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Authority, met with Wang Yu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, at the DG’s office in Mogadishu to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting focused on enhancing friendship and collaboration between Somalia and China, particularly in areas of immigration, citizenship services, and the development of the Authority’s infrastructure.
Both sides also explored ways to facilitate Somali citizens’ travel and residency in China, as well as China’s role in supporting the modernization and capacity building of Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Authority.
Ambassador Wang Yu thanked Somali authorities for the warm reception and highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries, noting ongoing collaboration in knowledge sharing, technical expertise, and support for institutional development and service delivery.
The discussion underscores the commitment of Somalia and China to expand partnership in governance, service modernization, and institutional capacity building.
