Fly Dubai on Thursday launched direct flights from Dubai to Mogadishu, expanding to 9 other cities from June 1st.
Passengers can now fly to Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Alexandria, Asmara, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Khartoum, Jubba and Addis Ababa.
Dubai-based carrier, flydubai said that it will double the frequency of its flights on this route from June 1, 2023.
The new direct flights make it the first carrier to connect Somalia directly with Dubai and the UAE. The route will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
The flights will operate between Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB) and MGQ airport. Return business class fares from DXB to MGQ start from Dhs12,000 and economy class lite fares start from Dhs3,000.
These other points in Africa that it flies to include Addis Ababa, Alexandria, Asmara, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Khartoum, Juba and Zanzibar.
This year, flydubai is in the midst of rapidly growing its destination network. From February 28, it will resume services to Shymkent International airport in Kazakhstan with a twice-weekly service.
From January 28 onwards, it already resumed twice-weekly operations to Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.
