Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim on Tuesday held meeting with the newly appointed Director of Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office Mr. Christopher Pycroft, at the UK Embassy in Mogadishu .
The two officials engaged discussions on wide range of issues including strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the humanitarian sector.
A statement from SODMA stated that both officials deliberated the activities of SODMA, focusing on capacity building, threat awareness, and emergency response.
They also discussed how to enhance safety and security for the Somali people through close cooperation with the two institutions.
Commissioner Moalim underscored the unwavering commitment by SODMA to continue helping the Somali people affected by natural calamities.
On his part, Mr. Christopher hailed SODMA for its continuous support to the vulnerable Somali population, highlighted the significance of bolstering collaboration between the UK government and Somalia to alleviate the sufferings of the Somali people.
