The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of SomaliaJ ibril Abdirashid Haji, today attended a ceremony welcoming 25 Somali children who recently returned from Italy after receiving specialized medical treatment for heart conditions.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his sincere appreciation to Hormuud Salaam Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Somalia for their joint efforts in facilitating comprehensive medical care for the children, particularly those whose conditions could not be treated within the country.

Mr. Jibril also commended the medical teams and surgeons who carried out the procedures, praising their dedication and selfless service to Somali children. He noted that the children showed clear signs of recovery and improvement, reflecting the success of the medical interventions.

He emphasized that such humanitarian partnerships play a vital role in supporting Somalia’s healthcare system and in saving the lives of vulnerable children, while also strengthening cooperation between Somalia and its international partners.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare services and supporting initiatives that address critical medical needs among Somali children.
