Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) ATMIS officials based in Dhobley town on Monday met members of the Dhobley Women’s Association.
The discussions between the two sides covered on wide range of issues including gender empowerment programmes for local women.
During the meeting, the association expressed gratitude to ATMIS for continuous support through its Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) initiative which have significantly enhanced women capacity and knowledge in the area.
The officials, led by Sector II Commander Brigadier Seif Salim Rashid and the KDF Female Engagement Team, also donated food & non-food items to help the families cope with the effects of natural disasters.
Senior Gender Coordinator Gloria Jaase and Gender Officer Major Taurai Siame were in attendance at the meeting.
ATMIS has continued to support the local communities within their area of jurisdiction in various areas primarily in capacity building and mitigation of natural calamities.
