Somalia and Kenya advance shared priorities at African Union meetings

On the sidelines of the ongoing African Union meetings in Addis Ababa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held talks with the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya, Musalia Mudavadi.

The meeting focused on advancing and aligning shared priorities between the two neighboring countries, particularly in the areas of regional peace and security, cross-border cooperation, and trade development. Both sides discussed practical steps to enhance collaboration in addressing common challenges and promoting stability in the Horn of Africa.

The ministers underscored the importance of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and sustained diplomatic engagement. They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular consultations and strengthening bilateral ties in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and contributes to regional prosperity.
