Somali Embassy in Kenya hosts minister of Labour to discuss diaspora services
Somalia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Prof. Saalim Aliyow, visited the Somali Embassy in Kenya to strengthen cooperation on citizen services, employment promotion, and protection of workers’ rights. The visit emphasized aligning government, embassy, and civil society efforts for more effective service delivery.
The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Prof. Saalim Aliyow, today visited the Somali Embassy in Kenya. He was warmly received by Ambassador Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, who briefed the Minister on ongoing diplomatic services, the situation of the Somali diaspora in Kenya, and the embassy’s efforts to enhance services for Somali citizens.
Minister Prof. Saalim thanked the embassy for its dedication in serving the Somali community and emphasized that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is ready to strengthen and expand direct cooperation with the embassy. Discussions focused on employment promotion, protection of Somali workers’ rights, and improving social services jointly delivered by both institutions.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of aligning the efforts of the government, the embassy, and civil society to advance labour and social services for the Somali population, ensuring efficient and coordinated delivery of essential programs.
