Somali Parliamentary Delegation Visits Embassy in Islamabad
The First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, MP Sacdiyo Yassin Haji Samatar, together with a delegation of Somali MPs, paid an official visit to the Somali Embassy in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, on Monday.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Somali Ambassador to Pakistan, Sheikh Noor Mohamed Hassan, along with senior embassy officials.
During the visit, the embassy team briefed the First Deputy Speaker and the delegation on the embassy’s ongoing activities, including its role in supporting Somali citizens residing in Pakistan, promoting Somalia’s diplomatic interests, and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaking after the briefing, MP Sacdiyo Yassin Haji Samatar expressed her gratitude to the embassy officials for their warm reception.
She commended the embassy staff for their tireless dedication and praised their work in providing essential services and assistance to the Somali diaspora in Pakistan.
The visit underscores the Somali government’s commitment to engaging with its overseas communities and strengthening diplomatic ties with friendly nations.
The delegation also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between Somali lawmakers and embassy officials to support citizens abroad and promote Somalia’s national interests internationally.
