At least five people were killed and several injuredΓΒ when a roadside bomb hit a military vehicle at K13 area on the outskirts of the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Alshabaab through it’s affiliated websites claimed responsibility for the attack saying it killed El Bur District Commissioner.
Alshabaab said the attackΓΒ targeted the DC identified as “Biyo Qute”.
Among the dead is a 7 yr old child, a government official said.
An eyewitness told Radio Dalsan that Several civilians were injured in the subsequent gunfire.
Alshabaab increased attacks on the road linking Mogadishu and the agricultural townΓΒ of Afgoye after Somali government declared a military operation to be launched in Lower Shabelle against the militant group following the October 14 bombing.
