At least four people were killed and ten injured when a car exploded near a security checkpoint in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Sunday, Radio Dalsan reports.
The checkpoint is close to to the Interior Ministry headquarters, Parliament and the Presidential residence Villa Somalia.
A witness told Radio Dalsan that he had seen four bodies at the scene of the bombing.
At least two soldiers were killed in the bombing while most of the injured were tri-cycle taxi operators locally known as “Bajaaj”.
Earlier in the day one soldier was killed in a different car bombing at a security checkpoint in Sinka Dheer area.
Last Thursday 14 people mostly civilians were killed in a car bomb explosion outside the Hotel Wehliye along the Makkah Mukarramah road in the capital Mogadishu.
Alqaeda linked militant group AlShabaab has in the past claimed responsibility for similar suicide bombings.
