Somali MPs diplomats rubbish Ethiopian report favoring Hawiye presidency demand Adis withdraw troops

A report recently released by an Ethiopian think tank claiming that a presidency outside the Hawiye clan has beem criticised by Somali Mps and diplomats as divisive and an interference on the country’s sovereignty.

Zakariye Mohamud Haji Abdi an Mp is among Somali lawmakers who now demand that Addis withdraw its troops from Somalia.

“They have to leave us alone and respect us. Its time they should have there troops out of Somalia” Abdi said on a TV talk show on Friday night.

“Ethopia does not want to see a  strong Governemnt” Abdi added.

Yusuf Garad Omar, Somali ambassador to UN posted his Facebook saying “As I understand every clan can rule Somalia and No one  can tell me that in  Somalia a clan A  only can rule this time and every time ,every somali has right” Yusuf Garad Omar the Somali Ambassador to the UN reacted on his facebook account .

“I wonder what is Ethiopia’s gain from this pure campaign, knowing that this think-tank is attached two Ethiopian Foreign Ministry” .

Sagal Bihi an Mp and activist tweeted.

“Somalia needs unifying leader who can see the big picture, create trust among different clans and  communities, not a user of  clan politics” Ali Haji a Candidate from Puntland tweeted in protest .

“I can called recent paper by Ethiopia’s leading think-tank as nonsense, ludicrous & insults to the country’s sovereignty”Ahmed Fiqi and former NISA chief posted his Facebook.

The report released on Wednesday also claims that new parliament is  composed of  young politicians linked to Alshabaab and other militant group.

The think tank Center For Dialogue and Reseach CDRC is believed to be linked to Ethiopia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
