Somalia and Singapore’s foreign ministers held a phone call on Friday to explore stronger bilateral ties, reaffirm Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stress commitments to regional stability and international law.

When Operation Restore Hope began, I wanted to join as a civilian. It didn’t happen. So I studied, convinced the chaos would pass, that we would one day go home to heal our country.

In addition, the President noted that Egypt, Indonesia, Cuba, Sweden, Canada, Finland, and Norway are also expected to present their credentials soon, marking another step in Somalia’s growing engagement with the international community.

Until now, Somali diplomatic passports were often verified only at departure points in Somalia, with holders still facing cumbersome procedures upon arrival in Germany. The new policy aligns German practice with international conventions and integrates Somali diplomatic passports directly into Germany’s border-control and immigration systems.
