The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Somali government, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi and his delegation arrived today in Baidoa, the capital of Bay region.
Fiqi, who landed at Shati Gaduud airport in was received there by the minister of internal affairs of the South West and other officials.
The Minister of Internal Affairs and his delegation were escorted to the presidential palace, where he will meet with President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Lafta Gareen.
According to the ministry of interior, the purpose of Minister Fiqi’s visit is related to the humanitarian situation in the region of South West Somalia.
Fiqi would also assess the humanitarian needs and the impacts of the devastating drought in the region.
He is also set to meet with State administration and military officials and members of the Public for reconciliation during his visit in Baidoa.
