Kismayo municipal administration begins renovation of city’s milk marke
The municipal administration of Kismayo has started renovation work at the city’s milk market. The project aims to improve business services at the market, ensure smooth operations, and enhance both cleanliness and overall appearance.
The First Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the Municipality, Daahir Xuseen Cabdi, along with the Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, Najiib Bare Salaad, visited the market to assess the ongoing improvements.
Officials highlighted the importance of the market for the city’s low-income community, particularly for women who rely on selling milk as a source of income. They emphasized that the renovation will support local traders, improve market conditions, and provide a more organized and hygienic environment for both sellers and buyers.
The administration stated that the upgrades are part of broader efforts to modernize Kismayo’s marketplaces and promote economic activity in the city while prioritizing the welfare of residents who depend on small-scale trade for their livelihoods.
