Somalia, Saudi Arabia Sign Deal to Rebuild Sports Facilities, Create Youth Jobs
Somalia and Saudi Arabia have signed a major cooperation deal focused on rebuilding sports infrastructure and supporting youth employment.
The agreement was inked in Riyadh after a meeting between Somalia’s Youth and Sports Minister Mohamed Abdiqadir Ali and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
The pact will see the two countries work together to rehabilitate stadiums, develop young talent, and promote job creation among Somali youth. It also includes plans for training programs and technical support from Saudi Arabia to boost Somalia’s sports sector.
Minister Mohamed said the deal is part of the government’s commitment to empower young people through sports and skills development.
He added that the partnership will strengthen ties between the two nations and open more opportunities for Somali youth.
The minister, who is in Riyadh for an official visit, is expected to meet several Arab League ministers to explore further cooperation in youth and sports development.
