The Commander of the Somali National Army, Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, held a meeting with the Defense Attaché of the Italy Embassy in Somalia, Captain (Navy) Antonino Mazzocca.
The meeting focused on strengthening and deepening military cooperation between the two forces, particularly in the areas of training, equipment support, and capacity-building of the Somali National Army.
The Army Commander expressed gratitude to the Italian government for its continued support, noting that Italy’s assistance has played a significant role in the rebuilding and professional development of the Somali armed forces.
For his part, Captain Mazzocca reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to sustaining its support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability for Somalia and the wider region.
