Mudug police, particularly officers from the Goldogob station, said they quickly apprehended the suspect following the incident.

The accused has been identified as Osman Mahamud Ali, who is alleged to have killed his mother, the late Xaawo Abdille Farah, and his wife, the late Farxiyo Mohamed Hirsi.

Authorities confirmed that Osman is now in police custody, and a full investigation into the killings has been launched. They also stated that he will be brought before a competent court to face justice.

Residents expressed deep concern over the rise of such violent incidents in Mudug, particularly those involving family members.

These killings add to a growing pattern of domestic-related violence reported across parts of Somalia.
