NISA conducts successful operation in middle Jubba, eliminates senior al-shabaab leader

Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in coordination with international partners, has carried out a successful operation outside Saakow town in Middle Jubba region, resulting in the death of a senior Al-Shabaab commander.

Security officials confirmed that the targeted operation is part of intensified efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s leadership, strongholds, and operational capacity across Somalia.

Authorities emphasized that such operations will continue, focusing on weakening the group’s influence and ensuring the safety of civilians, while maintaining pressure on insurgent networks throughout the country.

The operation highlights NISA’s ongoing commitment to national security and collaboration with international partners to combat terrorism.
