Senior officers from the General Operations Command of the Somali National Army (SNA) have conducted an assessment visit to the Awdheegle district, where they were formally received by the Commander of the 143rd Unit of the 14 October Brigade, Ground Forces of the Somali National Army, Captain Ali Mahdi Abdi Beerdiide.

The visit was aimed at evaluating the overall security situation in the district and reviewing recent military operations. Security officials confirmed that stability in Awdheegle is currently being maintained jointly by forces from AUSSOM and the 143rd Unit of the 14 October Brigade, who have full control of the area.

During their stay, the visiting officers toured locations that were recently cleared of Al-Shabaab elements that had been hiding in and around the district. These operations, carried out over the past few days, resulted in the dismantling of militant hideouts and the restoration of government authority in key areas.
