Office of the Attorney General holds review meeting on 2025 achievements and 2026 action plans
The Office of the Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Somalia today held a review meeting aimed at presenting achievements recorded over the past year, assessing the implementation of previous plans, and outlining priorities and action plans for the year 2026.
The two-day meeting was chaired by the Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Suleiman Mohamed Mahmoud, and was attended by representatives from all prosecution departments of the Office of the Attorney General, including the Secretary General and departmental directors.
During the meeting, departments presented detailed reports on achievements and challenges encountered throughout 2025, providing an opportunity for reflection on progress made and lessons learned. Participants also shared and discussed departmental work plans and strategic priorities for the year 2026, with a focus on improving performance and strengthening institutional effectiveness.
The discussions emphasized accountability, coordination, and the importance of addressing gaps identified during the implementation of previous plans in order to enhance service delivery and the overall effectiveness of the prosecution system.
In his closing remarks, the Attorney General commended the efforts and progress achieved under the previous year’s plans and encouraged all departments to accelerate priority tasks. He further urged staff to work diligently toward the full implementation of the 2026 plans approved during the meeting, stressing the importance of commitment, coordination, and results-oriented performance.
The Office of the Attorney General reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the justice system, improving prosecutorial services, and upholding the rule of law through effective planning and institutional accountability.
