The Majority leader in the Kenya Parliament Adan Duale has termed an event organised by Somalia’s Wadajir Party as a threat to the region’s stability.
Duale was reacting to a decision by Kenya Police to block a welcome party event that was to take place at the Sir Ali Muslim Club Nairobi on Tuesday.
“The government of Kenya fully supports the Somalia government. It is a member of both African Union and Igad,we as Kenya we will not allow our country to be used as a base to destabilise Somalia” Duale told BBC Somali on Tuesday.
“We have our Kenyan forces in Somalia,we promised to restore peace, harmony and stability in Somalia that is why the ministry of Internal Security and the Kenya police decided to ban the event” Duale said.
“We will not allow them today neither tomorrow and we pledge with the Somalia Federal government that we will give a helping hand and resist to support any opposition party” Duale said.
“The constitution of Kenya states that it is illegal for a foreign party from another country who is a threat to an existing government to conduct a political rally in Kenya” he added.
Warsame  issued a statement and blamed Villa Somalia for the eventuality.
Duale has in the past been critical against Warsame and some Somali commentators claim he used his political powers to have the Kenya police block the event.
The event was to be graced by the Wadajir Party leader Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame who last December was arrested by Somalia authorities for allegedlt colluding with an unnamed country to destabilise the Horn of Africa state.
