We collect only what we need to run this site. We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with advertisers. Most visitors leave no personal information with us at all.
Who we are
radiodalsan.com is operated by Dalsan Media Group, based in Mogadishu, Somalia. We run Radio Dalsan, Dalsan TV, and the Bilan Media newsroom. Questions about this policy: privacy@radiodalsan.com.
What we collect — and only what we need
What we collect depends on how you use the site:
• Just reading articles: We log your IP address, the pages you visit, and your browser type. This is standard server data used only for security and performance. It is deleted after 90 days.
• Leaving a comment: We collect your name, email address, and IP address. Your email is never shown publicly. Comments and their metadata are kept as long as they are published — contact us to delete yours.
• Creating an account: We store your username, email, and encrypted password. You can edit or delete your profile from your account settings at any time.
• Contacting us: We keep your email and message to respond to you. These are deleted after two years.
• Analytics: We use anonymized analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — not to identify you. If we use Google Analytics, you can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Cookies
We set cookies only for three purposes: keeping you logged in, saving your comment details if you choose, and checking the site works in your browser. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Embedded content from YouTube, Twitter/X, and Facebook may set their own cookies. We don’t control those. If you’re logged in to those platforms, they will know you visited the page. You can block this with a browser extension like uBlock Origin.
You can block or delete all cookies in your browser settings. Doing so won’t stop you reading articles, but will log you out of your account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and post a notice on the site for at least 30 days. We will never silently expand what we do with your data.

Please keep in mind that we keep a record of that correspondence, including your email address, and the content of your message. We use this respond to you and where relevant, to improve our journalism or editorial processes. We respond to all privacy enquiries within 30 days. For urgent requests, we aim to respond within 72 hours if you mark the subject URGENT.
