The Somalia’s northwestern regional state of Puntland on Saturday condemned Al-shabab’s attack on MakaAl-Makurama Hotel in Mogadishu, which claimed more than 10 people including government officials
“We deplore the loss of lives and extend our condolences to the families of the deceased,” the administration said in a statement releasedon Saturday. Federal government Forces and AMISOM troops have overpowered and took control of the hotel from Al-shabab fighters, police officials said.
The Puntland President Abdi-wali Mohamed Ali Gaas has offered his sincere condolence to Somalia’s UN representative Yusuf Bari Bari, who was among the deceased officials.
“We praise the response of the security forces of the Federal government of Somalia and AMISOM in responding to this brutal act “the administration said.
The Somali Federal government with AMISOM troops concluded long Al-shabab siege on the Hotel, shooting group’s assailants following a 15 hours confronted fighting between the two sides.
