Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union (SRCC ) and Head of ATMIS, Amb. Souef Mohamed Elamine has on Tuesday presented office supplies and equipment to Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation.
The office equipment which was donated with support of the Italian government, was received by Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation Deputy Minister for Abdihakim Ashkir.
According to Ambassador Elamine, supplies forms part of ATMIS’ Quick Impact Projects in the Horn of Africa Nation.
The ATMIS head said that the Peace Mission is committed to Somalia in the Nation building and institutional reforms as the East African Nation endeavours to realise centinental development.
Ashkir on his part thanked the Ambassador and ATMIS for its unwavering support to the progress and State prosperity of Somalia.
The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has since its inception been entangled in the stability and institutional growth of Somalia, a country reeling from decades of civil war that had hampered progress.
On a different development, Ambassador El- Amine met with Amb. Mikhail Golovanov, the Russian Ambassador to #Somalia in the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.
They discussed variety of items including the political and security situation in Somalia and the progress achieved in eradicating Al-Shabab.
The officials also deliberated, the ATMIS Resolution implementation, the upcoming Somalia security Conference and post ATMIS perspectives.
