Two regional Parliamentarians and a Deputy District Commissioner were on Tuesday killed in an ambush by Al-Shabaab militants in El-Ka Gelow village near the town of Bal’aad 30km from Somalia capital Mogadishu, Radio Dalsan reports.
Six Somalia National Army soldiers who had accompanied them as bodyguards were killed in the attack.
The MPs have been identified as Ismail Muumin and Moalim Dahir Mukhtar.
Deputy District of Raag Ceele is also identified as among the dead.
Somalia militant group Alshabaab claimed responsibility for the attack through affiliated website.
