A plane carrying the second batch of Somali migrants rescued from Libya landed at Aden Adde international airport in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Foreign Affairs officials and relatives were at the Airport to receive the 13 returnees.
The evacuation was made possible with the assistance of International Organisation for Migration and the Somali government.
Somali Ambassador to the EU Ali Said Fiqi told the media on Tuesday that a third batch of returnees is also ready to leave for Somalia.
“Forty-eight others who registered themselves are also ready and expect to leave next week. It’s not possible to get one plane for all of them. That’s why they are sent in batches†Fiqi told a Somali radio station from Libya.
11 returnees were evacuated from Libya last month.
