Somali Independent Media Houses Association (SIMHA) strongly condemns killing of Journalists in Mogadishu Jazeera hotel attack on Sunday.
Mohamed Abdirahman Maalim of Universal TV and Abdihakim Omar Mohamed of Somali Broadcasting Corporation lost their lives in the car bomb attack targeted at the hotel on Sunday evening.
Another Journalist, Universal Mogadishu chief editor Salman Jamal Said was also wounded in the gruesome attack and is nursing his injuries in Mogadishu hospital.
More than 15 people including foreign nationals were killed in the explosive attack.
Somali Independent Media Houses Association (SIMHA) Chairman Hassan Ali Gesey has reiterated his call for the protection of Somali Journalists who he said are neither affiliated to political rivals in the country.
“It is yet another very unfortunate incident against Somali Journalists who are already facing threats for their work,†he said.
“I wish the affected families well as they come to terms this horrible act against innocent Journalists,†he added.
