A mother, five children and a guest were burnt to death after their house caught fire early Monday in Mogadishu´s Yaqshid district, Radio Dalsan reports.
The father to the five children identified as Ahmed Ali is said to be seriously injured in the 2 am incident according to residents who responded to a distress call.
An eyewitness says the mother died while trying to rescue her children
The father was injured when he tried to save his wife and children.
Efforts by residents to rescue the family were not successful.
Banaadir Administration firefighters arrived later to contain the fire whose cause is yet to be established as investigations was launched.
The semi permanent house was completely destroyed by the inferno.
