The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Wednesday evening officially closed the 27th meeting of the Finance Ministers of the Horn of Africa Cooperation Forum, which was held for the first time in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the Finance Ministers and high-level delegations from member countries for their role in strengthening economic cooperation, promoting the exchange of experiences, and enhancing economic stability across the Horn of Africa region.

The President noted that Somalia’s hosting of this high-level forum reflects the country’s continued recovery and the growing confidence of the international community in Somalia. He emphasized that Somalia’s current leadership of the Forum presents a significant opportunity to deepen regional cooperation and advance the shared economic interests of member states.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud further highlighted the importance of collective regional efforts in addressing common economic challenges, fostering sustainable growth, and promoting long-term stability throughout the Horn of Africa.

The successful hosting of the meeting in Mogadishu marks an important milestone in Somalia’s re-engagement with regional and international partners and underscores its commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy and regional integration.
