A key topic of discussion was Israel, which was accused of illegally recognizing parts of the territory of the Federal Republic of Somalia, particularly the northern regions. The issue was widely debated due to its implications for regional stability and international law.

Addressing the meeting, Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Issaq delivered an important speech in which he firmly stated that any action interfering with Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity is unacceptable and constitutes a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The Somali ambassador warned that Israel is attempting to export the conflicts of the Middle East onto Somali territory, a move he described as a serious threat to regional security and stability in the Horn of Africa.
