The Speaker of the Jubbaland Parliament and Acting President of Jubbaland, Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman, on Saturday undertook an official working visit to the Janna-Abdalle area to assess and accelerate ongoing development projects.
The visit was accompanied by members of both houses of the regional government, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor of Kismayo, the Commander of Jubbaland Darawiish Forces, and other senior military officials.
During the inspection, the Speaker inaugurated the first phase of a major paved road project connecting Buulo-Gaduud to Afmadow District, which is currently under construction in Janna-Cabdalle. This road, a joint initiative by the Jubbaland government and local communities, aims to enhance connectivity, trade, and economic growth in the region.
The Speaker highlighted that the purpose of the visit was to ensure quality, transparency, and responsiveness of development initiatives to the needs of local residents. He also praised the collaboration between the government and the communities in bringing the project to its current stage of success.
Officials indicated that the road construction is a critical infrastructure project for Jubbaland, expected to improve transportation, facilitate commerce, and boost socio-economic development in the southern regions.
