The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Thursday visited the Somali Embassy in Algeria to receive a comprehensive briefing on the work of Somali diplomats stationed at the mission. The delegation was led by Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan, who provided the President with updates on the embassy’s operations and the progress achieved since its reopening earlier this year.
During the visit, the embassy staff presented a detailed report on their diplomatic successes, emphasizing the strengthening of relations and cooperation between Somalia and Algeria. They highlighted key initiatives that have enhanced bilateral ties, supported Somali citizens residing in Algeria, and promoted mutual understanding and friendly collaboration between the two nations.
The Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdisaalan Abdi Ali, accompanied the President during the visit. The Minister observed the embassy’s activities and participated in discussions regarding strategies to further enhance Somalia’s diplomatic presence and effectiveness in Algeria.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud encouraged Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan and the diplomatic team to double their efforts in delivering essential services to Somali citizens and to actively participate in implementing bilateral agreements that have been signed between Somalia and Algeria.
