Authorities said the arrests were the result of a joint operation by the Somali National Army and the South West Darwish Police. The operation targeted the individuals responsible for the attack and successfully brought them into custody.

General Khaalid, Commander of the Somali Ground Forces, identified the suspects as Saalax Xuseen Cali, Cabdixamid Cabdullaahi Siidow, and Dahir Mukhtaar Shiribow. He emphasized that the suspects have been handed over to the Armed Forces Court to face justice under Somali law.

The commander further stressed that the Somali government remains committed to preventing such acts of violence and ensuring that those who commit atrocities are held accountable. He highlighted that this arrest sends a strong message that acts of brutality, particularly targeting vulnerable individuals, will not be tolerated in any part of the country.

They also called on the public to cooperate with security forces in reporting criminal activity and supporting efforts to maintain peace and safety in all regions.

This operation underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security measures, enforce the rule of law, and uphold justice for victims of violence while deterring future crimes. Somali officials have indicated that further investigations are ongoing to ensure all individuals involved in the crime are brought to justice and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
