Somali Ministry Of Information Receives Modern Media Equipment From The Turkey 

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Da’uud Aweys Jama, received modern media equipment from the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Somalia, Mr. Alper AKTAŞ.
The equipment includes modern cameras and live broadcast equipment, which is part of a previous agreement between Somalia and Turkey to develop the national media.
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) represented the Turkish Government in the implementation of the agreement, and the handover ceremony, which took place in Mogadishu, was attended by the Head of TIKA Somalia, Zafer Eski.
This very important and modern equipment is intended to strengthen and develop the various sections of the National Media, in order to accelerate the government’s media activities.
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, H.E. Da’uud Aweys Jama thanked the Turkish Government and TİKA for their continuous support to the Somali government, especially the National Media.
The Minister noted that this equipment donation is part of a partnership program between the two governments aimed at developing and improving the media.
Minister Da’uud said that Somalia will benefit from this equipment in implementing national agendas such as state building, accountability of government institutions, the fight against the Khawarij and the historic elections expected to take place in the country soon.
The Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Alper AKTAŞ, said that the brotherly relations between Somalia and Turkey are deep, and the two countries are working closely to promote information and exchange of media knowledge and media strategies.
The Head of TİKA in Somalia, Mr. Zafer Eski, for his part, said that this equipment will play an important role in improving the Somali media, and that TIKA will play a role in training, equipping, and modernizing the National Media.
The event featured the presentation of the modern equipment that was presented to the National Media, with officials from the Somali Ministry of Information and Turkish institutions pledging to further strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
