Gaza, – Hamas has declared its readiness to release all Israeli captives, including both living detainees and the remains of those killed, in exchange for an end to Israel’s military operations in Gaza and a complete withdrawal of its forces. The offer was outlined in a proposal reportedly linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggested prisoner-swap framework.
The announcement came from Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian faction governing Gaza, through a statement distributed on its official Telegram channel. The group’s position was framed as a comprehensive step toward a broader political solution, involving both local and international stakeholders.
Hamas stated it is prepared to engage in immediate negotiations with international mediators to finalize the terms of the exchange deal. The group also signaled willingness to hand over administration of Gaza to an independent committee made up of Palestinian technocrats, describing this as a move designed to safeguard national unity and secure support from Arab and Muslim-majority countries.
The declaration was made public on October 4, 2025, amid ongoing hostilities in Gaza and rising international pressure for a ceasefire.
The proposal centers on the Gaza Strip, the densely populated enclave where Israel has intensified its military campaign and Hamas maintains its power base.
