Washington, — U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that both Arab leaders and Israel have given a “very positive response” to his latest initiative aimed at reaching a peace agreement over Gaza and broader Middle East tensions.

Speaking in a phone interview with Reuters, Trump stressed that “everybody wants to make a deal” and expressed optimism ahead of his scheduled meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later in the day.

“This proposal is not just about Gaza,” Trump said. “It’s about achieving wider peace in the Middle East.”

The U.S. leader added that over the weekend he sensed “a real opportunity for major breakthroughs” in the region, signaling renewed White House interest in positioning itself as a broker in Arab-Israeli relations.

Efforts to resolve the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict have repeatedly stalled, with Gaza remaining one of the most contentious issues. Trump’s latest remarks come as regional leaders weigh how to balance pressure for a ceasefire and reconstruction in Gaza with broader normalization talks involving Israel and several Arab states.

While Trump has previously claimed progress on Middle East peace, skepticism remains high among analysts who note that deep political divisions, ongoing violence in Gaza, and unresolved questions around Palestinian statehood continue to block any comprehensive settlement.
