Mogadishu, Somalia – The Deputy Governor for Public Works of the Benadir Regional Administration, Abdimajiid Dahir Aden, on Tuesday inspected the ongoing reconstruction of key roads linking the Hamar Jajab and Waaberi districts in Mogadishu.

The visit comes days after Mogadishu Mayor Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab) authorized payments to restart the long-delayed project, which had stalled for seven months due to funding shortages. During his tour, the deputy governor met with engineers from the construction company and stressed the road’s importance for easing traffic flow and improving mobility between the two busy districts.

He urged contractors to accelerate the pace of work so the project can be delivered on time, reducing pressure on other congested parts of the capital.

The Benadir Regional Administration has prioritized infrastructure development in recent years, funding the rehabilitation of several major roads while cutting down on misallocated spending.
