Mogadishu, — Somalia’s Military Court on Monday executed two al-Shabaab members convicted of bombings and targeted assassinations in the town of Galkayo. State media identified them as Anas Abdiqadir Cali Mahmoud and Adan Mursal Mohamed Iidow, who were found guilty of killing prominent community elders. Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda–linked group, has been waging an insurgency against Somalia’s federal government for more than 15 years, carrying out frequent attacks on civilians, officials and security forces.
