The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced the successful elimination of 23 militants linked to the Al-Shabaab group during an operation in Baqdaad area, under Afgoye district in the Lower Shabelle region. The operation, conducted Tuesday evening, also led to the destruction of the militants’ command base.

The action followed intelligence reports indicating that the militants were planning activities to disrupt security in the region. NISA has reiterated its call for civilians to avoid areas where militants are hiding, as these locations remain primary targets for security operations.
