Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on Wednesday evenjng arrived in the Eritean capital Asmara ahead  of a tripartite summit with leaders of  Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Farmaajo was welcomed by his host Isias Afworki and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at the Asmara International Airport upon his arrival at 7.00pm local time.

The leaders are expected to discuss on various issues and ways to strengthen their ties.

“The President of the Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, will arrive in Asmara later today for a tripartite Summit with President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed” Eritrean Information Minister Yemane Meskel tweeted earlier.

This is Farmaajo’s and Abiy’s second visit to the Red Sea nation.
