Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire on Saturday held talks with his host  the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in the capital Addis Ababa.

Khaire is on a two day state visit of Ethiopia on an invitation by Prime Minister Ahmed.

The two Premiers discussed a wide range of issues top on the agenda regional affairs and the war against militant group Alshabaab.

“Held a very constructive meeting with H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the PM of Ethiopia. Discussed crucial bilateral issues of mutual benefit to both countries. We both reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen the brotherly relations between our two countries and people” Khaire later tweeted.

Ethiopia is a  a troop contributing country to Somalia under African Union.

Abiy was appointed the new Premier in April to replace Hailemariam Desalegn and Khaire is the highest ranking Somalia government official to meet him.
