At least two people are confirmed dead after UAE trained Somalia National Army soldiers and NISA agents clashed in the capital Mogadishu.
The fighting occurred near the Tarabunka junction on Wednesday morning.
Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Khaire has condemned the fighting and has demanded that commanders take charge of their forces to avert further clashes.
“The arms that you possess are paid for by the taxpayer and is supposed to defend the nation from the enemy,†Khaire said.
Radio Dalsan confirmed that the UAE trained soldiers withdrew from five checkpoints in the capital including the State-run Radio Mogadishu.
The fighting lasted for at least one hour.
It is not clear what caused the Wednesday morning clash.
