Unknown gunmen on Tuesday evening shot dead the father to Somalia Military Court Chief Colonel Hassan Ali Shute outside a Mogadishu mosque, Radio Dalsan reports.

Mr. Ali Nur Shute had just attended evening prayers at a Mosque in Hamarweyne district when the gunmen shot at him several times before fleeing the scene.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Madina Hospital.

“We will pursue those behind the killing of the military court chief’s father. We are saddened by the incident” Mumin Hussein Abdullahi the Deputy Chief of Military Court told Radio Dalsan in an interview.

It is not yet clear who may be behind the attack or what their motive was.
The killing comes a day after five suspects of the October 14 bombing were arraigned in court for the first time to face charges for the deaths of more than 500 people killed.

One of the five suspects charged Hassan Isak was accused by Col. Shute of being the head of assassinations coordinator in Mogadishu for the military group Alshabaab.

All past cases linked to Alshabaab ended in the execution of the charged.
