Somali Armed Forces court has sentenced four Islamic state and levant fighters to prison.

The four including self proclaimed Daesh head in Bay region Abdiaziz Hassan Mursal, explosive device expert Mahad Nur Sidow, and fighters namely Mohamed Sheikh Mohamed and Ali Mohamed Gabow were sentenced to ten years in prison by the military court.

The were accused of carrying out targeted killings in Baidoa, the head quarter of South Western regional state of Somalia.

The sentence on Sunday marks the first legal case against the self- proclaimed Islamic state wing in Somalia by the government that is already struggling to contain armed group Alshabaab hit and run attacks in main cities across the country.

Military court in Somalia largely carries out terror related cases in the country.
