African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM ) has assured to provide security to ensure smooth process during upcoming elections in Somalia.
AU special representative to Somalia ambassador Francisco Madeira has said the mission is ready to fully cooperate with Somali security forces to provide security during elections later this year.

He said security committee will be put in place to implement the crucial agenda in the coming months.
AMISOM has welcomed the decision reached by Somali government leaders as far as the electoral model is concerned.
The mission has also confirmed that new Djiboutian commander will takeover the joint mission command as the head of AMISOM operation
