Somali National Army warrant Officer 2nd Class, Mohamed Amin serving in Mogadishu Stadium in the Somali capital has claimed that he is the son of late Ugandan President Iddi Amin Dada.

In a story published on African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) bimonthly magazine, officer Mohamed said his dad and mom met and married in Beledweyn according to Islamic customary in 1970s.

Mohamed said he and sister were brought up in Somalia and didn’t know who his real father was and his mother never acknowledged his roots.

41 years old who is currently part of Somali National Army fighting armed group Al Shabaab said he has close relations with Uganda People Defense Forces serving in Somalia.

He added that his mom who currently resides in Baidoa regularly visited Saudi Arabia where his father was exiled before he died in 2003.

Iddi Amin Dada who ruled Uganda in 1970s was a close friend to former Somali strongman Mohammed Siad Barre and regularly visited Somalia during his reign in power.
