Mogadishu court has ordered the release of two Somali TV Journalists detained by Intelligence Agency last week. However the satellite still remains off air in the capital and most part of the country. Mogadishu court has ordered the release of two Somali TV Journalists detained by Intelligence Agency last week.

However the satellite still remains off air in the capital and most part of the country.

According to state owned media Radio Muqdisho , the two Journalists were released on bail without giving further details on the bailout.

The two who are director Abdullahi Hersi Kulmiye and program producer Awil Dahir were arrested last week in connection to weekly discussion program that aired on TV tackling contentious political issues in the country.

Umbrella Union of Somali Independent Media Houses Association (SIMHA) has welcomed the release of the Journalists.

The SIMHA Chairman Hassan Ali Gesey has called upon the government to respect the freedom of the media and bring the TV channel back on air.
