The Chief Commander of Somaliland Police Major General Abdullahi Fadal Imaan has on Saturday put behind the bars police officers, who are on strike against how the Police ranks were given. The officers have earlier submitted their complements to overall commander and he set with ranks giving commission and eventually the outcome was to arrest the officials who he said were compiling on no genuine grounds.
The number of the the arrested officers are said to be over, and their ranks are between last corporal to a lieutenant. There are reports which say that the detained officers will be demoted after they walkout from the detention center.
It was with the government of the current President of Somaliland when all Somaliland forces have for the first time ever got their ranks since they claimed a self state from the rest of Somalia in 1993.
