Reports from Baladweyn town the headquarters of Hiran region in central Somalia say that fighting broke out between Alshaabab fighters one one side and Somali government soldiers and AU troops together on the other side in a village called El- Ali some 25km from Baladweyn.
The fighting come when a convoy carrying Somali government officials who have been recently in Baladweyn town on tour of duty has been ambushed by Alshabab fighters.

“The situation is under full control of the Somali government and their ally the AU troops, and I cannot give you details about the fight†said Jamal Adan a sergeant in the Somali military who was taking part in the fight.
