Three people were killed and six police officers wounded when armed group Al Shabaab landmine was targeted at Kenyan police car near Lamu.

According to security officials the police vehicle was travelling from Garissa to Lamu at the time of the incident.

Security sources further said one senior police officer is missing and is suspected be taken hostage by Al Shabaab fighters after the explosive attack on their car.

This latest attack comes after last week Al Shabaab attack in border town of Mandera that killed 14 quarry workers and a head of US President visit in Kenya on 25th for summit.

Meanwhile US government has issued new travel advisory warning its citizens to stay away from the country due to planned terror attacks ahead of Barack Obama visit.
